More than 1.5 thousand residents of the Lipetsk region suffered from tick bites

In the Lipetsk region, more than 1.5 thousand people turned to doctors with tick bites. This is reported by GOROD48 with reference to information from Rospotrebnadzor.

Laboratory tests revealed that 16.8% of ticks carried borreliosis. Another 4.9% of the pests turned out to be carriers of granulocytic anaplasmosis, 0.3% — monocytic ehrlichiosis.

Most cases of suction are recorded in the territories of houses and household plots. 12.6% of cases occurred in natural conditions, more than 4% — in the territories of gardening associations. 3.1% of citizens turned to doctors after visiting cemeteries.

Doctors remind us that the main way to prevent tick-borne encephalitis is vaccination. In addition, protective measures should be used when visiting natural areas. In particular, you should choose clothes that cover the surface of the body and use acaricidal agents.

The main symptoms of encephalitis are headache and fever. In this case, the disease may not manifest itself for six months after a tick bite.
