Agronomist and biologist Mikhail Vorobyov on Monday, May 26, told how to protect plants in the country during the heat.

In an interview with Radio 1, the specialist noted that now that the hot weather has settled, it is possible to plant almost all the seedlings that were grown or purchased.

Meanwhile, the sudden onset of summer is stressful for plants. First of all, it is worth protecting those that have already been planted in greenhouses, because the weather was quite cool and the plants did not have time to prepare for the heat.

To help the plants, greenhouses and greenhouses should be covered in any available way. It can be a semi—transparent covering material that partially reflects light, and partially transmits it, giving a light shadow. It can also be tulle curtains, sheets, even tree branches with leaves.

Vorobyov added that in the heat, the leaves of plants can be watered from a watering can so that moisture is absorbed not only through the roots. If seedlings are planted, it is better to put them in the shade first to get used to the new conditions. It is better to plant in the afternoon, towards evening, when the sun is no longer warming so much. You can also mulch the soil with something so that it does not heat up.
