The Prosecutor General of Russia, Igor Krasnov, and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Chea Leang, signed a cooperation program for 2025-2026. This was announced on May 26 on the official website of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.
"This year marks 69 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Cambodia. Over the years, the two countries have been building trusting contacts based on mutual respect and support. This also applies to the law enforcement unit," Krasnov said.
According to him, ensuring the rule of law, the inevitability of punishment for crimes and the protection of citizens' rights are the common goals of the prosecutor's offices of both countries. It is reported that one of the priority areas of cooperation will be scientific and educational activities.
The Russian Prosecutor General added that Moscow is ready to share its experience in combating digital crime, terrorism, extremism, and corruption.
"I am convinced that the signing today of the cooperation program for 2025-2026 will be the next step in the development of professional contacts between the Prosecutor General's offices of the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Cambodia," concluded Krasnov.
On the same day, it was reported that Krasnov and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Cambodia Kyet Rit signed a memorandum of understanding. According to him, the signed document should strengthen the legal basis for joint work between Russia and Cambodia.
