The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported the abandonment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces wounded and killed during the escape from Belovod

The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) fled from Belovodsk region, abandoning the wounded and dead. This was announced on May 26 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to the ministry, Russian paratroopers have uncovered the defense systems, main strongholds and firing facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Belovody and on its outskirts. It is specified that the firing points of the Ukrainian army were suppressed, the opened control points were also destroyed.

Unmanned aircraft of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hit fortified areas in buildings where the enemy was hiding. In addition, Russian military personnel cut off access roads to Belovody for the supply of ammunition and other materials, disrupted the rotation and evacuation of personnel.

"Subsequently, the assault groups of the "winged infantry", using the entire arsenal of small arms, stormed the settlement. The enemy fled, abandoning the wounded and dead. Some of the militants laid down their weapons and surrendered," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

As a sign of the liberation of the settlement, the paratroopers of the Russian Armed Forces raised the flag of the Airborne Troops over the settlement.

After capturing the village, Russian units repulsed four enemy counterattacks.

Earlier that day, Russian military personnel liberated Belovody and Vladimirovka in the Sumy region. As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 275 militants, four armored fighting vehicles, nine vehicles, four field artillery guns, an electronic warfare station and a counter-battery radar station.
