One person died in an accident with a moose in the Leningrad region.


As a result of an accident involving a moose and a passenger car on the Kola highway in the Leningrad region, one man was killed and five more people were injured. On May 26, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg and the region informed about this.
"On May 26, at 00:25, on the 169th km of the Kola highway, a 41-year-old Mitsubishi Outlander driver ran over a moose that suddenly ran onto the highway," the department's Telegram channel says.
Due to the impact, the vehicle was blown into the oncoming lane, where it collided with a Volkswagen driven by a 36-year-old man. He died in an accident.
The Mitsubishi driver and his three passengers, including a 42-year-old woman and two children, aged 8 and 14, were injured. They were hospitalized. A Volkswagen passenger was also injured. He refused to go to a medical facility. An investigation is underway into the incident.
The day before, it was reported that two people were killed in an accident in the Georgievsky district of the Stavropol Territory. Three more people were injured.
