- Peskov said there was a lack of understanding about the continuation of negotiations with Ukraine.

At the moment, there is still no understanding about the continuation of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the venue. This was stated at a briefing on May 26 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, answering a question from Izvestia about Turkey's prospects as a negotiating platform for the two countries.
"There is no understanding yet on the continuation of the negotiation process and on the venue. We need to prepare for the next round, so it's premature to talk about it yet," he said.
Peskov also expressed gratitude to Turkey for the ideal conditions that the state has provided for the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations.
On May 22, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that the second round of talks between Moscow and Kiev would take place, which can already be considered a "positive" signal. At the same time, the minister noted that there are no specifics about new meetings yet, and the idea of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in the Vatican is "unrealistic."
