The commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) involved in the missile attack on the city of Lgov, Kursk region, which injured 16 people, have been identified. This was announced on May 26 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation Svetlana Petrenko.

According to the investigation, Rostislav Karpusha, commander of the 19th separate missile brigade "Saint Barbara" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as division commanders Vadim Smirnov and Vladimir Kersan, were involved in the attack using three HIMARS MLRS missiles. All three are suspected of committing a crime classified as a terrorist act.

"During the investigation, all the circumstances of the incident will be established and a criminal legal assessment of the actions of other involved persons will be given," the message says.

The investigation is ongoing, all the circumstances of the incident are being established, as well as the location of the suspects.

In addition, military investigators had previously established Karpusha's involvement in a missile attack on a boarding school building located in the city of Sudzha, Kursk region, in February this year.

A massive attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Lgov became known on the evening of May 22. Initially, 12 victims were reported, including two minors. Later, the number of victims of the strike increased to 16 people. In addition, 64 private houses and 28 apartments were damaged due to a massive missile strike.
