- Serbia announced the extension of the gas contract with Russia until the end of September

Russia and Serbia have extended the validity of the gas contract until the end of September this year. This was announced on May 26 by the director of Srbijagas Dusan Bayatovich.
"In practice, this means that we will be able to fill warehouses in Hungary and the Banat Yard and will be well supplied for the winter," RTRS quoted him as saying.
Bayatovich stressed that in this scenario, gas will not become more expensive for households, and the resource will become cheaper for enterprises. According to him, he has been repeating for many years that there is no solution for stable supplies without Russian gas.
According to RTRS, the annex to the contract provided for the supply of 6 million cubic meters of gas at a price of €290 per 1 cubic meter.
Former Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Vulin, in an interview with Izvestia on February 7, expressed hope for an extension of the contract with Gazprom "as soon as possible." Then he stressed that Moscow had always had good intentions towards Belgrade and was always ready to help.
