Ukraine has ceased to be a priority of the United States under the administration of current President Donald Trump. This was reported on May 25 by The Economist magazine.

"The problem is that Ukraine has gone from being a priority of [former U.S. President Joe] Biden's administration to just one of many potential customers competing for limited (military. — Ed.) products under the administration of Donald Trump," the article says.

According to the magazine, Kiev may have to develop a survival strategy against the background of weapons problems.

It is noted that Ukraine is ready to pay the United States "as much as it wants" for the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system, but Washington does not respond to Kiev's requests, the Newspaper added.Ru». Meanwhile, the Ukrainian air defense system is becoming more difficult to cope with Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The German newspaper Bild reported on May 22 that Trump, following a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, no longer wants to insist on a cease-fire in Ukraine. It was clarified that Washington is now satisfied with Moscow's willingness to start negotiations with Kiev.

On May 20, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in turn, clarified that the United States had not stopped supplying weapons to Ukraine, but stressed the lack of decisions on the possibility of forming new military aid packages.
