The Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) of Russia has refused to transfer the "Bitsevsky maniac" Alexander Pichushkin, who is serving a life sentence, from the Polyarnaya Zvezda special regime penal colony to Mordovia in order to be closer to relatives. A source from Izvestia informed about this on May 26.

It is specified that Pichushkin filed a petition after his confession in 11 new episodes of murders that he committed on the territory of Moscow and the Moscow region. The FSIN refused, after which he filed a complaint against the agency.

The "Bitsevsky maniac" committed murder for the first time when he was 18 years old. Then he strangled his friend Mikhail Odiychuk with a rope, and dumped the body into the sewer. Subsequently, Pichushkin began killing single women, street children, and the homeless.

On April 17 last year, Natalia Guskova, the mother of the "Bitsevsky maniac," announced her son's poor condition in prison. According to her, he is on the verge of death due to a severe illness.

Alexander Pichushkin was born on April 9, 1974. He is known by the nicknames "Bitsevsky maniac", "killer with a chessboard". Pichushkin claimed that he sought to commit 64 murders.: one for each square of the chessboard. The investigation managed to prove 62 episodes. Pichushkin committed the largest number of crimes from 2001 to 2006. In October 2007, the court sentenced him to life imprisonment.
