Patriot anti-aircraft missile launchers, which are in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), are not fully functional and often have to undergo repairs. This was reported on May 25 by the British Economist magazine.

According to the newspaper, Ukraine probably has at least eight Patriot batteries in service. However, some of them regularly fail.

"At any given time, some of them are damaged and undergoing repairs," the publication noted.

On May 24, Yuri Ignat, an official representative of the Ukrainian Air Force command, said that Patriot air defense systems had become less effective at intercepting Russian ballistic missiles. According to him, it is difficult for the American air defense system to anticipate the point of interception of a missile when it performs maneuvers rather than flying in a straight line.
