As a result of the Cong Thanh shipwreck in the coastal area of the Vietnamese port of Vungang, 10 people were missing, and one crew member was found. This was reported on May 26 by VnExpress.

It is noted that 11 crew members were on board the ship, which was carrying 4.9 tons of coal from the Vietnamese province of Quang Ninh to the province of Quang Binh.

When approaching the port, the ship was found to have an engine failure. After sending a distress signal, as specified, the entire crew made an independent evacuation attempt, as a result of which only one person was saved at the moment. He was discovered during a rescue operation announced by the Vietnamese authorities.

Fishing vessels are also involved in rescue operations. At the moment, the fate of the remaining sailors remains unknown. The authorities were warned by the border guard service about the possibility that the sailors would be taken to the border waters.

According to the meteorological service, adverse weather conditions in the area of the shipwreck persist: heavy rains, gusty winds and large waves are observed, and thunderstorms are also expected. All this creates difficulties in conducting search activities.

The Indian Express newspaper reported on May 25 that a Liberian-flagged container ship with dangerous cargo on board sank in the Arabian Sea, off the coast of the Indian city of Kochi. The country's coast guard reported that all 24 crew members, namely one Russian citizen (captain), 20 Filipinos, two Ukrainians and a Georgian citizen, were evacuated.
