Military personnel of the 92nd sapper regiment of the North group of forces continue to clear unexploded ordnance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) household plots, agricultural lands and highways in the liberated settlements of the Kursk border region. On May 26, the Ministry of Defense showed footage of the combat work of the Russian military.

The work is being carried out to restore socially significant facilities and infrastructure necessary for peaceful life in the region after the fighting. Sappers are combing the entire territory step by step in search of unexploded shells that were left by Ukrainian militants during their flight: mines, tripwires and other traps that are almost impossible for an ordinary person to detect.

"The amount of work is large. It is necessary to look everywhere: behind every tree, in all houses, even behind cans and in garbage bags. [The enemy] is playing tricks. Even children's toys can be mined, so that later, when people come by, someone will find their toy, and a detonation will occur. They mine everything they can imagine," said a senior sapper with the call sign Pretty Boy.

Unexploded shells found are destroyed by an overhead charge right at the place of detection. During all events, modern and diverse samples of special military equipment and weapons are used, including the Uran-6 and Stalker mine clearance complexes.

The deputy platoon commander of the 92nd sapper regiment of the North group of forces with the call sign Potap said that units of the Russian Armed Forces find from 10 to 20-30 ammunition per day.

It is noted that the sappers of the North group of forces perform daily combat missions for engineering reconnaissance of the area, detection and destruction of mines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On April 24, servicemen of the engineering forces and sappers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with the BARS-Kursk volunteer brigade, shared with Izvestia personnel on mine clearance in the border areas of the Kursk region. Soldiers are checking infrastructure facilities such as boiler houses, gas pipelines and power transmission lines.
