Russian Ambassador Pavel Kuznetsov was summoned to the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to an alleged violation of the country's airspace. This was reported on May 25 by the Finnish TV channel Yle.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs [of Finland] has summoned Russian Ambassador Pavel Kuznetsov to provide clarifications in connection with the alleged violation of Finnish airspace on May 23," the statement said.

The incident involving two Russian military aircraft allegedly occurred off the coast of the Finnish municipality of Porvoo.

According to the TV channel, the Gulf of Finland border Guard launched a preliminary investigation into the incident, and Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hyakkanen said that his department was taking the alleged incident seriously.

On May 14, the Estonian Foreign Ministry summoned the Charge d'affaires of the Russian Federation in the country, Lenar Salimullin, to present a protest note after the country's authorities stated that the Russian plane allegedly violated the republic's airspace. Moscow did not comment on Talin's accusations.
