The European Union (EU) will be ready to make a trade deal with the United States after July 9, it needs time before that. This was announced on May 25 by the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen.

"It will take us until July 9th to conclude a profitable deal," she said in a message on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Von der Leyen also noted that the European Union is ready to move forward negotiations quickly and decisively, as Washington and the EU have always had close trade relations.

Trump said that it is difficult to trade with the EU because of the powerful trade barriers, so he recommends that trade duties of 50% be imposed on the union countries from June 1. According to him, the United States loses $250 million annually on trade with the EU.
