In the fall, Russia will limit the number of bank cards per person to 20

A limit on the number of bank cards issued per person will come into effect in Russia as early as autumn. It is assumed that everyone will be able to get no more than 20 pieces, and a maximum of five in one credit organization. This was announced to "Izvestia" by the head of the State Duma Committee on Financial Market Anatoly Aksakov.
The measure was proposed by the Central Bank in early March to combat droppers, on which fraudsters draw up dozens of accounts and then use them to withdraw stolen money. According to Central Bank head Elvira Nabiullina, a normal person "does not need 100 cards from different banks," and therefore the limit is proposed.
Conscientious customers who actively use services of different financial organizations in pursuit of favorable rates and cashback, this limitation will not prevent, experts interviewed by "Izvestia" noted. Thus, with all the variety, having more than eight cards is not optimal for the client, said Veniamin Kaganov, general director of the Association for the Development of Financial Literacy.
This is due to the fact that banks often change the terms of service, and inform about it after the fact - by posting new terms on the website, which customers rarely look at. As a result, a person may pay unnecessary commissions.
