Police officers have detained a suspect in the arson attack on a volunteer aid collection center in Podporozhye, Leningrad region. This was announced on May 25 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
"My colleagues from the Leningrad region have detained a suspect in the arson of a volunteer headquarters," she said in a message on her Telegram channel.
It is noted that during the operational search activities, the alleged arsonist was identified. It turned out to be a 40-year-old local resident. He was taken to the investigative authorities, who began making a procedural decision.
The arson of a volunteer headquarters with humanitarian aid for participants in a special military operation and residents of the Kursk region became known on May 25. Inside the almost completely burned-out building were camouflage nets, medical supplies, and clothes for children in the Kursk region.
