US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said on May 25 that it was necessary to immediately begin the introduction of a ceasefire in the Ukrainian conflict.

"Cease fire now," the special envoy said in a message on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Direct talks between representatives of the Russian Federation and Ukraine took place in Istanbul on May 16. They took place in the Dolmabahce Palace. During the dialogue, the delegations agreed to present their vision of the ceasefire.

The Wall Street Journal reported on May 21 that Trump rejected the European Union's proposal for an "unconditional" cease-fire as a result of negotiations on Ukraine.
