On May 25, CNN published a list of popular global brands that will be forced to raise prices for their products due to US President Donald Trump's trade duties.

Walmart has already promised that the chain will soon start selling goods more expensive precisely because of Trump's duties. Prices are expected to rise as early as June 2025.

The increase in the cost of products is promised by the leaders of the largest toy company Mattel, which also produces Barbie.

Electronics retailer Best Buy has warned that the price of its products is "very likely" to rise for American consumers.

"Ford Chief Financial Officer Sherry House said that the company expects a 1.5% increase in car prices in the United States in the second half of 2025," the material says.

The Japanese automaker Subaru also said that the company will raise prices in the United States to "compensate for the increased costs." They did not specify how much prices could rise.

Manufacturer of household goods Procter & Gamble said it would consider raising the prices of some product categories.

Adidas also said that due to Trump's duties in the United States, its goods are "most likely" to rise in price.

Earlier, on May 17, Trump criticized Walmart, which operates the world's largest wholesale and retail chain, for raising prices amid new US duties. The American leader stressed that he would monitor the company's actions regarding pricing policy.

On April 3, it became known that after the introduction of import duties, the price of Apple shares fell by 9.55% per day and amounted to $202.52 per unit. On April 9, CNBC reported that the American technology corporation had lost its status as the most expensive company. It was clarified that because of Trump's tariff plan, Apple suffers the most among technology corporations. Later, Trump threatened Apple to impose 25 percent duties on any iPhones sold but not manufactured in the United States. Against this background, the company's shares fell by 4%, and quotes dropped from $201 to $193 in less than 10 minutes.

On April 2, Trump announced the introduction of 10% base duties on products imported from other countries. For the European Union, this figure was raised to 20%, and for China, the figure reached 145%.

On May 11, Trump announced a complete reset of US-China relations, which took place in a friendly and productive manner. Trump praised the negotiations with China, calling them very good, and noted that he wants to see the result of the concluded "pleasant" agreements, as they will act for the benefit of the United States and China. On May 12, China decided that it would suspend or cancel non-tariff countermeasures that were taken against the United States from April 2, 2025.
