- A military medic spoke about the rescue of more than 300 military personnel in their area
A paramedic with the call sign Aibolit saved more than 300 Russian servicemen in the special military operation zone, but he himself came under fire and is now recovering. He told the Izvestia correspondent about all the details on May 25.
According to him, he received this injury when he was saving wounded soldiers from death. Ukrainian militants attacked him as soon as they spotted him on the battlefield.
"We came under fire. We started unloading from the car to run for cover, and 120 mortars covered us, FPV drones flew in," the military medic said.
Aibolit noted that sometimes you have to carry the wounded and at the same time provide assistance under fire. He saved more than one life that way.
"I lost count very quickly because the flow was very large. But, according to the head of the brigade, I pulled out more than 300 guys," said the medic.
He also told how he saved one of the Russian fighters. According to him, a fragment split the jugular vein of a military man, and then Aybolit managed to make a clamp thanks to a medical stapler. As a result, he survived.
Now that Aibolit himself is in a hospital bed, there, at the front, the soldiers are waiting for his return.
On May 12, it became known that military medics of the 810th Separate Guards Marine Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet, as part of the North group of forces, regularly provide necessary medical care to residents of the border areas of the Kursk region. It was noted that military doctors have to face different tasks, ranging from obstetric cases to surgical operations.
