Krasnodar won the Russian Football Championship for the first time in its history

Krasnodar football Club (FC) beat Dynamo Moscow in the match of the 30th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) and for the first time in history became the champion of the Russian Federation in football. The match on May 24 ended with a score of 3:0.

The goals were scored by John Cordoba (46th minute), Nikita Krivtsov (82nd minute) and Eduard Spertsyan (90+10).

Krasnodar scored 67 points and took the first place, ahead of Zenit from St. Petersburg, which was the winner of the RPL of the previous six seasons. Dynamo scored 56 points.

FC Orenburg lost to Krasnodar on May 17 with a score of 1:2 in the match of the 29th round of the Russian Premier League and left the top division. Striker John Cordoba and defender Lucas Olasa scored goals for the winning team. The only goal of the Orenburg team was scored by forward Brian Mansilla.
