The media learned about Trump's rejection of some EU proposals for a new trade deal

US President Donald Trump has criticized the European Union's (EU) trade proposal, as well as rejected proposals to jointly eliminate tariffs on industrial goods, expand access for some American agricultural products, and jointly develop artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. This was reported by Bloomberg on May 24, citing sources.
It was noted that the proposal covers tariff barriers, increased economic security, mutual investments and strategic purchases. At the same time, the purpose of the document was an attempt to provide a basis for the start of formal negotiations on a trade deal.
According to the publication, the EU has also put forward the idea of joint work in the field of shipbuilding, cooperation in the field of port infrastructure and the creation of an energy partnership between the EU and the United States, covering gas, nuclear energy and oil.
In addition, the EU's proposals included working towards zero duties on cars, strengthening cooperation in the field of investment verification and export control.
Bloomberg reported on May 21 that the EU is preparing a new package of trade proposals with the United States to boost upcoming negotiations with the Trump administration. It was noted that this document provides for mutual investments and strategic purchases in the field of energy, AI and digital communications between the countries.
