Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has held an urgent economic meeting of the government in connection with the energy threat from Ukraine. On May 24, he announced this on the social network Facebook (owned by Meta, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).

"The Ukrainian energy threat. If this happens, the average electricity bill, which currently stands at 7,000 HUF (1.5 thousand rubles. — Ed.), will increase to 14 thousand forints (3 thousand rubles. — Ed.). <...> We will prevent this!" wrote Orban, posting a video from the meeting.

According to the Prime Minister, the suspension of gas transit by Kiev and the plans of the European Commission (EC) to abandon Russian resources pose risks to Hungary's energy security."Газета.Ru ".

Yesterday, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto called Ukraine one of the main causes of the energy crisis in the European Union (EU). He noted that due to Kiev's actions, some Central European countries found themselves in a difficult situation, and now Serbia provides gas transit for them.
