Forest fire services have extinguished 59 forest fires in 13 regions in the Russian Federation over the past 24 hours. On May 24, the FBU "Avialesookhrana" was informed about this.

"Over the past 24 hours, 59 forest fires in 13 regions have been extinguished in Russia. Work is underway to extinguish 91 forest fires in 9 regions," the organization's Telegram channel says.

3,812 people, 646 pieces of equipment, and 34 aircraft were involved in eliminating fires.

At the moment, an emergency regime has been introduced in three regions, and a special fire protection regime is in 46. In 85 regions, there is a fire season. Since the beginning of 2025, 75% of forest fires have been eliminated in less than a day from the moment they were discovered.

Fires are being extinguished by more than 3,000 people, and the number of specialists in difficult regions is constantly increasing.

Earlier, on May 23, it was reported that an emergency class of fire danger is possible in nine settlements of the Trans-Baikal Territory in the coming days. From 24 to 26 May, such a situation is expected to worsen in Ononsky, Chita and Karymsky districts.
