Patriot air defense systems have become less effective at intercepting Russian ballistic missiles. This was announced on May 24 by the official representative of the command of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuri Ignat, on the air of the Ukrainian news telethon.

According to him, Patriot systems, which are supposed to intercept a target, may not work as effectively as the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) would like.

Ignat added that it is difficult for the Patriot system to anticipate the target's interception point. This applies to the flight of a ballistic missile, when the missile performs maneuvers rather than flying in a straight line.

On May 23, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian air defense systems effectively repel attacks by UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He noted that the Kiev regime retains its essence by continuing to attack peaceful facilities and social infrastructure in Russia.
