WP learned about looting of humanitarian aid trucks in the Gaza Strip

Looters looted trucks with humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by The Washington Post on May 23, citing a statement by representatives of the United Nations (UN).
"The UN reported that 15 trucks of the World Food Program carrying humanitarian aid were looted in the Gaza Strip," the article says.
According to the newspaper, this incident shows the insecurity and despair prevailing in the enclave.
According to experts, the population of the Gaza Strip needs to receive 500 trucks of food per day to meet their needs. It is estimated that one in five people in the enclave is on the verge of complete exhaustion.
"Humanitarian organizations say that the Israeli authorities have rejected most of their requests for more effective measures to protect the convoys," The Washington Post pointed out.
However, the Israeli side has already stated that its military is pursuing looters.
On May 23, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced the onset of the "most violent phase" of the conflict in Gaza, which is caused by famine. According to him, without fast, reliable, safe and constant access to help, there may be more victims.
