A criminal case was opened in the Perm Region after poisoning children in a sanatorium.

A criminal case has been opened into the poisoning of children in a sanatorium in the Perm Region. This was reported on May 24 in the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

As indicated in the department, as a result of the incident, two children were hospitalized, and the rest of the poisoned, the exact number of which is being determined, received outpatient treatment.

"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet security requirements")," the agency said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

The mass poisoning at the children's sanatorium "Eaglet" in the Perm Region became known earlier that day. According to the Izvestia source, an acute intestinal infection was detected in 35 children.
