The Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar has sentenced the former vice-governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Alexander Nesterenko. He was detained for 1 month and 29 days. This was announced on May 24 by the joint press service of the courts of the region.

"From the materials presented to the court, it follows that Nesterenko is accused of having committed a crime while acting as head of the State Institution "Main Directorate of Construction of the Krasnodar Territory," the department's Telegram channel informed.

The former vice-governor violated the law in accordance with Part 3 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Abuse of official authority"). According to this article, he could face up to 10 years in prison. Nesterenko stated in court that he agreed with the charges.

A source from Izvestia reported on the detention of the former vice-governor of the Krasnodar Territory on May 22. It is specified that Nesterenko's home and workplace were searched.

On May 21, it was reported about the dismissal of the former vice-governor of the Krasnodar Territory. The reason for this decision was the systematic lag behind schedule in the construction of social facilities.
