Residents of the Kherson region and other regions of Russia began receiving fraudulent letters from Roskomnadzor (RCN) under the pretext of a "disconnected call." This was announced on May 24 by the press service of the Department for the Organization of combating the illegal use of information and Communication Technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

"Your incoming call has been disconnected with suspected fraud! If you have received a call requesting personal data, call the hotline back," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.

As indicated in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, such messages are sent in order to force a citizen to call the scammers on his own.

The Interior Ministry stressed that RCN employees do not disconnect calls, do not send messages, and also do not call citizens.

The agency clarified that it is not necessary to call back numbers from such messages.

On May 23, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported that fraudsters continue to create fake Telegram bots of Russian Post and other delivery companies in order to steal data. It is noted that the mini-applications in Telegram do not display URLs, which makes it difficult to verify their authenticity. When you enter your data, the information instantly gets to the scammers, which can lead to account hacking, theft of funds, or even blackmail.
