Russian science fiction writer Yuri Nikitin has died at the age of 85.

One of the founders of Slavic fantasy, science fiction writer Yuri Nikitin died at the age of 86. This was announced on May 24 by the press service of the Eksmo publishing house on the official website.

"We are sad to inform you that today, on May 23, a wonderful writer, one of the most famous Russian science fiction writers, Yuri Nikitin, passed away," the message says.

Nikitin has written more than 40 books, including the novel "Faramund", "I Live in this Body" and many others. Also, some of the writer's works were published under the pseudonym Guy Julius Orlovsky.
