The half Marathon "Race.RF" launched in all regions of Russia

The half marathon "Run.RF" is the most massive sporting event. The marathon takes place in all 89 regions of the country. The first such race started back in 2017 and has now become an annual event. Several different distances are offered to run: one, five, ten km and many others.

"I participate in all the races, so I have a collection of medals," said a resident of Rostov-on-Don while participating in the half marathon.

In Moscow, the streets along which the half marathon routes will run are blocked. Traffic has been stopped near Zaryadye Park. It is forbidden to travel along Bolshaya Ordynka and Polyanka, along the Garden Ring from Paveletsky railway station and to Novinsky Boulevard. The embankments from Smolenskaya to Moskvoretskaya will be closed from 09:00 until late in the evening.

Participants run from the very center of the capital — from Vasilyevsky Descent along the central streets and embankments. This is not only a race, but also a kind of express tour of the most famous places in Moscow.

40,000 runners from Moscow participate in the race at a distance of 21 km. Among the athletes and champions of Russia are Rinas Akhmadeev, Vladimir Nikitin, Alexey Reunkov, and among the women — Louise Dmitrieva, Dina Alexandrova.

There are volunteers at more than 30 support points along the entire distance. They give participants starter packs containing T-shirts, drinks, and food. The winners of the half marathon in the overall standings among men and women will also receive an electric Moskvich as a gift.

In Yekaterinburg, the race used to start in the center of the Ural capital, but this year the rule was changed: it was moved to the territory of a completely new Novokoltsovsky district, to the campus where the international student Games were held a year ago, and now the half marathon.

The coolness and dullness do not frighten the participants of the race — whole families with strollers go to the start.

"We are running in a running wheelchair with Mark and Nadezhda. The running stroller has large wheels," a family from Yekaterinburg told about their participation.

Another athlete also shared her thoughts about the event.

"It's an incredible event for me to meet my runner friends and have a great time," she said.

Across the country, the half marathon starts simultaneously in eleven time zones: from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka. You can even join the race online — this is for those who are abroad, but also want to become part of the sports festival.

The organizers are confident that this year the most massive synchronized start in the world will be able to overcome the target of 180,000 athletes.
