The air defense forces destroyed five Ukrainian drones over the Tver region in an hour.

Russian air defense systems destroyed five Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Tver region in an hour, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"On May 24, from 08:30 Moscow time to 09:30 Moscow time, five Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles of an airplane type over the territory of the Tver region were destroyed by air defense systems on duty," the department said in a Telegram channel.

The new weapons are machine guns or submachine guns mounted on special turrets.

Earlier that day, it became known that the air defense forces destroyed 94 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over six regions of Russia. Thus, two Ukrainian drones were shot down over the territory of the Kursk region, 64 drones over the Belgorod region, two UAVs over the Lipetsk region, one over the Voronezh Region, 24 over the Bryansk region, and one over the territory of the Tula region.

Later it was reported that air defense systems intercepted 10 UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the Belgorod region in half an hour.
