On May 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the staff of the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper and its readers on the 100th anniversary of the publication of the first issue of the newspaper.
"Komsomolka's reports reflect an entire century of Russian history with its achievements and triumphs, harsh trials and tribulations. The materials of prominent publicists, famous writers and poets were printed on the pages of the newspaper. Many times, she led enthusiasts and became the driving force behind great endeavors," he noted.
Putin noted the patriotic position, optimism, fresh outlook and popularity of the publication, he also thanked the newspaper's military officers, who from the first days of the special military operation have been talking about the struggle for the future of Russia and the revival of Donbass.
On March 27, the annual solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the main prize of the Union of Journalists of Russia "Golden Pen" took place. 73 journalists were awarded on the stage of the event. Among the laureates are Olga Kuzmina, a columnist for Evening Moscow, Mikhail Bryzgalov, an author and host of Orpheus Radio, Timur Medzhidov, head of the ITAR—TASS special projects department, David Narmania, a columnist for the Rossiya Segodnya international news agency, Alexey Ovchinnikov, a correspondent for Komsomolskaya Pravda publishing house, and others.
