A suspect in the arson of a police department was detained in St. Petersburg.

Law enforcement agencies have detained the alleged arsonist of the police department on Vasilyevsky Island in St. Petersburg. This was reported on May 24 in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region.
"As a result of the operational search activities carried out <...>, a 37-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of committing the above—mentioned crime," the message says.
According to the suspect, an unknown person recently informed her that her personal account at Gosuslugi had been hacked and loans had been issued with it, and money had been transferred to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Then the unknown man offered to set fire to the police building and promised that the woman would be able to repay her debt.
Currently, the issue of initiating a criminal case under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act") and choosing a preventive measure in the form of arrest is being resolved against her.
