The St. Petersburg Metro has filed a lawsuit for 67 million rubles against the organizers of the terrorist attack in April 2017 to compensate for the damage caused. This was announced on May 23 by the head of the joint press service of the city courts, Daria Lebedeva.
"The St. Petersburg Metro has sued the terrorists. <...> The plaintiff requests that the defendants jointly recover 67 million rubles," she said in a message on her Telegram channel.
According to her, the total amount is made up of payments to victims of the terrorist attack, the cost of eliminating the exploded car and its cost.
On May 23, the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia reported that a Russian who was preparing an explosion in the path of a parade column at the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) on May 9 was detained in Kaliningrad. According to the investigation, the attacker was going to set off an explosive device during the celebrations.
