Axios has learned about the reorganization of the US National Security Council

US President Donald Trump, together with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, are reorganizing the National Security Council (NSC), reducing the number of employees of the department. This was reported on May 23 by the Axios portal, citing an unnamed source from the White House.
These procedures, as he noted, are part of the fight against the so-called "deep state" (the emergence of hidden structures in the state that are not elected by the people and influence politics and the economy).
"The NSC is the top of the deep state. Marco is against the deep state. Now we are cleaning it out," the portal quotes the source as saying.
At the same time, Trump wants Rubio to remain his interim national security assistant "as long as possible," the publication says.
Andy Baker and Robert Gabriel may become deputy national security advisers. Baker is currently National security adviser to Vice President J. D. Vance, and Gabriel is Trump's political aide.
Rubio announced the plans of the US administration to introduce major changes to the work of the National Security Council on May 14. It was clarified that he was going to seriously reduce the staff to 50-60 people, the final decision has not yet been made.
