The Pentagon has signed contracts for the repair and improvement of American military vessels in the coastal zone for a total of $ 2.6 billion. This was announced on May 23 by the press service of the US Department of Defense.

"We have received a fixed fee under contracts for the repair, maintenance and modernization of coastal warships based in San Diego, California, with a total combined cost not exceeding $ 2.6 billion," the press service said.

It is specified that a total of 17 companies have received contracts. Work under the contracts will continue until May 2030.

On May 9, the US Department of Defense signed a contract with Lockheed Martin for the manufacture of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. It is specified that the place of missile production and financing will be determined for each specific order.
