Doctors had to remove 13 organs from British resident Rebecca Hynde after food poisoning during Christmas lunch led to a rare form of cancer — pseudomyxoma of the peritoneum. This was reported on May 23 by the British newspaper The Mirrorr.

According to the newspaper, the girl was poisoned by food during Christmas lunch at work, but her illness never went away. After several visits to the doctor and going to the hospital, the study revealed tumors in her abdomen, which were cancer — pseudomyxoma of the peritoneum.

It is reported that Hynd's cancer has fused to the surface of several abdominal organs, forming solid tumors.

"She underwent two surgeries to remove thirteen organs and body parts that had become cancerous, including her intestines, ovaries, and uterus," the article says.

The girl had to take up to 60 pills a day to keep her body functioning. But a few months later, Hynde learned that the operation had not eliminated the cancer, and it was classified as incurable, the publication clarifies.

The Mirror notes that famous Hollywood actress Audrey Hepburn died from the same type of cancer.

On March 12, Rasul Akhmaev, oncologist at the SM Clinic, told us which oncological diseases cause early metastasis. According to him, these include cancer of the pancreas, ovaries and stomach. One of the most dangerous is ring-shaped cell carcinoma. It occurs twice as often in men as in women.
