The Russian Football Union (RFU) banned the Samara club Krylia Sovetov from buying football players for a year. This was reported by RBC-Sport on May 23, citing sources.

"We are talking about two upcoming transfer windows — summer and winter. At the same time, the team will be able to sell its players or sign free agents, for whose transfer it is not necessary to pay," two sources familiar with the situation told RBC—Sport.

It is indicated that the decision is due to the fact that the club had problems paying off debts. The interlocutors noted that if one of the players is sold, Krylia Sovetov will still have the right to spend the proceeds on the transfer.

Earlier in the day, Krylia Sovetov received a license to participate in the 2025/26 season of the Russian Premier League. According to Dmitry Yakovlev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Samara club, the stable financial situation of the club allowed to obtain a license. The team will continue to be tasked with achieving sporting results, he stressed.
