- The Russian Federation is ready to hand over to Ukraine a draft peace treaty immediately after the prisoner exchange

Russia will be ready to hand over to the Ukrainian side a draft document outlining the conditions for a peaceful settlement of the conflict after the completion of the prisoner exchange. This was announced on May 23 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
According to him, Moscow is committed to the agreements reached during the negotiations between the delegations of the Russian Federation and Ukraine in Istanbul.
Russia is finalizing a list for the exchange of prisoners of war in the "1000 by 1000" format and is actively working on the second part of the agreements, which provides for the preparation by each side of a draft document outlining the conditions for achieving a peaceful settlement of the conflict, Lavrov said.
"As soon as the exchange of prisoners of war is completed, by that time we will be ready to hand over to the Ukrainian side a draft of such a document, which the Russian side is currently finalizing," the Russian Foreign Minister stressed.
Earlier that day, a Russian-Ukrainian prisoner exchange took place, during which 270 Russian servicemen and 120 civilians returned from Ukraine. The event was held within the framework of the agreements reached at the talks in Istanbul on May 16. The Russian Defense Ministry said that the exchange is planned to continue in the coming days.
