Harvard sued Trump's decision to ban foreigners

Harvard University has sued the administration of US President Donald Trump over its decision to ban the institution from accepting international students. This was reported on May 23 by the Bloomberg news agency.
"We condemn these illegal and unjustified actions. This endangers the future of thousands of Harvard students and scientists and serves as a warning to countless others <...> who have come to America to continue their education and fulfill their dreams," said Harvard President Alan Garber.
According to the agency, such a decision by the Trump administration deals a serious blow to Harvard and escalates the government's struggle with elite colleges to an unprecedented level.
"The government's actions have put thousands of international students in an uncertain position. Both the suddenness and timing of this step have left current and accepted students at a loss as they try to figure out what to do next," the article says.
The university's lawsuit claims that the ban on admitting international students violates the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and "due process rights."
On May 22, the head of the US Department of Homeland Security, Kristy Noem, announced that Harvard University had lost its certification for admitting international students. She added that all international students who are currently studying at Harvard should transfer to other educational institutions.
