- Vance announced that the United States was abandoning its policy of interfering in the affairs of other countries.

US President Donald Trump's trip to the Middle East marked the United States' abandonment of its policy of interfering in the affairs of other states. This was announced on May 23 by US Vice President Jay Dee Vance during a speech before the graduation course of the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
According to him, the most important element of Trump's visit to the Middle East was the rejection of the foreign policy approach that contradicts the ideas of the founding fathers of the United States, which Washington has followed for decades.
"There has been an experiment in our foreign policy for a long time, as a result of which national defense and maintaining our alliances have been replaced by building states and interfering in the affairs of other countries, even those that were not related to the main interests of the United States," he said.
On May 13, it became known that during the first day of Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia, a package of agreements and investment commitments worth $600 billion was signed between the two countries. The parties also signed a $142 billion defense cooperation agreement, under which Saudi Arabia will be provided with "modern military equipment and services from more than a dozen American defense companies."
