In the Trans-Baikal Territory, it was proposed to ban the movement of electric scooters on sidewalks. The corresponding initiative was made by the Orel Council of People's Deputies in the regional legislative assembly.

As explained at a meeting of the regional parliament, sims will be able to move only along bike paths and roadways. A proposal was also made to increase fines for traffic violations.

The reason for the initiative was an increase in accidents involving SIM in Transbaikalia, writes ChitaMedia news agency. So, compared to 2024, their number has increased fourfold — from four to 17 cases.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that Russians are switching from rental cars to their own electric scooters due to the tightening of kicksharing sanctions - speed restrictions, the presence of zones where their movement is prohibited, children are not allowed to drive, fines and others.
