The Ural Automobile Plant has opened a new building for the assembly of high-intensity trucks, the company's press service reported on its social networks on May 23. It will use the latest global technologies, said Pavel Yakovlev, General Director of the automobile plant.

The new building will increase the total production capacity by more than 5.5 thousand vehicles per year. Yakovlev explained that the range of trucks produced by Ural with a gross weight from 12 to 48 tons has different manufacturing technologies. Among them, there are cars that require lengthy technological operations for assembly, for which a new body was required.

The project was implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. The new car assembly building was built in less than two years. According to the company, the uniqueness of the facility lies in the fact that it was designed by Russian specialists (including all technological chains) and is equipped for the most part with domestic technological equipment of the latest generation: robotic complexes, AGV trolleys, the only robotic warehouse in Russia, a mezzanine, etc.

On May 21, it was reported that the 50-thousandth Lada Largus car rolled off the assembly line of the Lada Izhevsk automobile plant. The anniversary car was a five-seat station wagon in a blue shade "Captain". Lada Largus production was moved from Tolyatti to Izhevsk, where production of the model started on May 15, 2024.

On May 20, it became known that the production of Voyah Passion sedans will begin in July at the Motorinvest plant in the Lipetsk region. The sedan's maximum range reaches 1,000 km on the WLTP cycle, and it can travel up to 200 km on pure electricity.
