The Central Bank will issue commemorative coins in honor of Zenit and Lokomotiv

The Bank of Russia will issue commemorative silver coins dedicated to Zenit and Lokomotiv RPL clubs. This was reported on the Central Bank's website on May 23.

"The Bank of Russia has decided in 2025 to issue commemorative silver coins dedicated to the Zenit (St. Petersburg) and Lokomotiv (Moscow) football clubs," the statement said.

In addition, in 2026, the Central Bank will issue commemorative coins in honor of CSKA (Moscow) and Spartak (Moscow). The Central Bank also talked about the main criteria that clubs must meet in order to qualify for the issuance of a commemorative coin in their honor.

"There are additional criteria for sports clubs: the club must be over 100 years old, represent a mass sport, have high results and participate in leading national competitions," the regulator clarified.
