In the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG), 32% of respondents are dissatisfied with the work of Chancellor Friedrich Merz's new government coalition. This was reported on May 23 by the German newspaper Tagesspiegel.

According to the newspaper, 32% of Germans expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the ruling coalition of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the Christian Social Union (CSU) and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). 51% of respondents positively assessed the activities of the Merz government, and another 17% of respondents could not give an unambiguous answer.

It is reported that 47% agreed that Merz himself is doing a good job. 35% of German citizens gave a negative assessment of the chancellor's work.

According to Tagesspiegel, many German citizens are disappointed with the start of the coalition government.

"Only 41% of respondents said that the black-red coalition had a good start, while 51% said that the government had a pretty bad start," the article says.

The publication also states that 64% of Germans are confident that the new government will be able to solve economic problems and achieve growth in the German economy. 32% are not confident in the economic success of the coalition.

On May 11, the Bild newspaper reported that less than 25% of German citizens were satisfied with Merz's work during his first days as chancellor. It is clarified that only 23% of respondents positively assessed Merz's work, while 49% spoke negatively about it, and 28% found it difficult to answer.
