Szijjarto called Ukraine one of the main causes of the energy crisis in the EU

Ukraine is one of the main causes of the energy crisis in the European Union (EU). This was announced on May 23 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
"Ukraine is one of the main causes of the energy crisis in Europe, as Ukraine has closed the gas pipeline through which natural gas was transported from Russia from the east to Europe," the Hungarian Foreign Minister said, according to the MTI news agency.
Szijjarto noted that due to Kiev's actions, a number of Central European countries found themselves in a difficult situation and now Serbia provides gas transit for them. More than 20 million cubic meters of natural gas enter Hungary through Serbia every day, which is about 7.5 billion cubic meters. m per year, the minister stressed.
In April, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Ukraine, in collusion with the EU, had stopped the transit of Russian gas through its territory in order to draw Hungary and Slovakia into the conflict. According to him, gas supplies to the east of Hungary have practically stopped.
