The UN reported concern about the militarization of Europe

The militarization of political thinking in a number of European countries is a dangerous trend that causes concern. This was announced on May 23 by the High Representative of the UN Secretary General for the Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Angel Moratinos.

"Today, the militarization of political thinking is intensifying in some European capitals. It's very dangerous," he told TASS.

In an interview, Moratinos stressed that the European community was created with the aim of establishing peace and prosperity for the peoples living in these territories. For example, the establishment of production of agricultural machinery, industrial equipment, machinery for the automotive industry and scientific research.

However, at the moment, according to him, Europe contradicts the ideas of the founders of the community, as the union returns to the production of weapons and military equipment.
