- Russian and Myanmar Prosecutor General's Offices sign document on mutual protection of citizens
Citizens of Russia and Myanmar will be protected from illegal actions in the field of international justice. The corresponding agreement was signed on May 23 by Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov and Myanmar's Minister of Legal Affairs, Prosecutor General Thida U.
"The parties signed a Protocol to the Agreement on Mutual Protection of Citizens from Abuses in the field of International Justice," the publication on the website says.
According to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, the document will serve as a tool for implementing guarantees of protection against increased abuse by a number of foreign states and pseudo-international judicial authorities. In addition, Krasnov noted that the chosen course of the two countries shows a focus on respect for international rights — "the sovereign equality of states, non-interference in internal affairs, respect for human rights and freedoms."
The Prosecutor General stressed that Russia is ready to continue sharing best practices with colleagues from Myanmar to counter threats.
Earlier, on March 29, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin discussed military and military-technical cooperation with the leadership of Myanmar. He said that over the 77 years of diplomatic relations between Russia and Myanmar, the states have built successful multisectoral cooperation that brings results.
