Lokomotiv hockey players brought the Gagarin Cup to the memorial in Tunoshna


The players and coaching staff of the Lokomotiv hockey club brought the Gagarin Cup to Tunoshna, the site of the Yaroslavl team's plane crash in 2011. This was announced by the club's press service on May 23.
"Today we took the Gagarin Cup to where it was supposed to be, to the memorial in Tunoshna," says a message on the Locomotive Telegram channel.
It is reported that the hockey players dedicated the victory in the Gagarin Cup to the team that died in 2011 as a result of a plane crash.
On September 7, 2011, a charter Yak-42 crashed on takeoff from Yaroslavl airport in Tunoshna. The entire main staff and the coaching staff of Lokomotiv were on board the plane, adds Sport-Express.
On May 21, in the fifth match of the final series of the KHL playoffs, Yaroslavl hockey club Lokomotiv defeated Chelyabinsk Traktor and won the Gagarin Cup for the first time in history. The game took place in Yaroslavl and ended in overtime with the score 2:1 (0:0, 1:0, 0:1, 1:0) in favor of the owners.
